The theme of the contest is set to be "fun", aiming to further explore and nurture new children's wear design, inject new vitality into the children's wear industry, and gradually improve the design level and innovation ability of China's children's wear industry, thus promoting the upgrading of the children's wear industry.

To this end, the preliminary evaluation of this competition hired a jury of the super strong lineup, Liu Yuanfeng, Wu Xuewei, vice chairman of the China Fashion Designers Association, Wang Yutao, winner of the "Golden Top Award", Wang Lu, dean of the School of Art, China Women's College, Beijing University of Technology Wang Wenjuan, a professor at the college, has designed more than 1,600 effective works from over 20 provinces and cities nationwide.

At the initial evaluation site, more than 1,600 works were displayed in batches. The jury was eliminated by the first, second and third trials, and finally 30 finalists were finalized. The on-site reviewers carefully read through the works, reviewing the renderings, structure drawings, copywriting and demos, and from time to time, onlookers, discussions and comments on outstanding works.

Intention is the primary criterion for judging the screening. The first impression of fashion design works is color, while color is even more important in children's wear design. "The growth period is the key period for children's early aesthetic education. Designers need to consider the shaping of children's aesthetics. Therefore, I believe that the design color should be bright and not stimulating, and it should reflect a kind of intimacy." Liu Yuanfeng said. The reporter observed that the finalists often showed a light and lively design in color.

In terms of structure and functionality, children's wear and adults have very different requirements, and the design of "adult scales for adults" is not advisable in the eyes of the judges.

“Here is the watershed of many designs. Many works do not take into account the child's life characteristics in the design. For example, it is unreasonable in the local functional design. There is a design work on the side pocket of the garment top. The design is beautiful. However, it is not considered that the child often does not control the force well when he is in the pocket, and it is easy to scratch the back of the hand; another design has a large number of decorative belts on the neck, chest and legs of the child, which is easy to bring accidental injuries..." Wang Lu showed reporters some works, and the consideration of safety and comfort became the focus of the mentor's review.

Looking at the finalists, there are often more comprehensive considerations in this regard. "There are more than 1,600 works in this competition, you can see the degree of national players, but a large number of works also reflect a general problem, that is, players are generally not very old, may not have children, so the safety points for children's clothing Not enough attention, I hope that players who participate in the future can carefully consider this requirement." Wang Wenjuan also stressed.

Many fabric samples have selected natural fibers such as cotton and wool or functional fabrics with large elasticity to take care of the children's health and sports needs. Finally, the unexpected details have also attracted the attention of the judges, that is, accessories. Too many accessories and too luxurious are not good for the judges. "On the one hand, too many accessories will be heavy and not in line with the children's sports characteristics; on the other hand, the accessories are too luxurious and not conducive to the education of children's values." Wang Yutao said that only accessories that meet the childlike taste can give design points.

The rigorous selection of the contest is also amazing, and it also reflects the entry level of the “China·Weili” National Children's Wear Design Competition and the higher requirements for the excellence of the works.

It is reported that this year's competition will set a gold medal, a prize of 100,000 yuan; 2 silver prizes, each with a bonus of 50,000 yuan; 3 bronze medals, each with a bonus of 30,000 yuan; 1 craft quality award, a prize of 10,000 yuan; excellent The awards are 14 to 19, and the prizes are 3,000 yuan each. In addition, the institutions that actively organize the competitions are commended, and some organization awards are given, with a bonus of 10,000 yuan each.
