Ramie textile has long degumming process, heavy pollution, high water consumption, heavy environmental load, low spinning efficiency, coarse spinning count, heavy yarn feather, low weaving efficiency, poor fabric quality , low dyeing fastness and itching. The problem is that it is strong and easy to wrinkle. The key technical bottlenecks such as coarse fiber count, high gum content and high lignin content are also seriously hindered the effective implementation of eco-efficient processing of ramie textile.

The project will carry out a series of technological innovations on the cultivation of new varieties of ramie, guam fiber degumming, spinning, weaving, dyeing and finishing, and break through the key technical bottlenecks of processing, and realize the high-end application of ramie textiles in the fields of clothing, home textiles and industrial use.

Innovation point 1:

Eco-efficient biochemical one-step degumming technology. The project adopts the complete degumming process which is different from the semi-degumming of process fiber such as jute and hemp. It has developed a biochemical one-step scouring degumming, high-efficiency direct drainage washing and high-efficiency cutting for the outstanding problems of long degumming process, heavy pollution and high water consumption. Key technologies such as the production of strips form an efficient ecological processing technology from raw hemp to high-quality fine dry hemp.

Innovation point two:

Ramie fiber smoothing spinning technology. The project has developed the ramie long-spinning airflow trough poly-concentrating spinning technology and the ramie short-spinning self-squeezing jet vortex spinning technology for the problems of low efficiency of ramie fiber spinning, coarse yarn count and yarn hairiness. High-efficiency production of spun high-gloss yarn and staple fiber blended smooth yarn.

Innovation point three:

Ramie efficient weaving technology. The project is aimed at the problems of weak sizing effect of ramie yarn, low weaving efficiency and poor quality of fabric. Innovative research and development of ultrasonic pulping and sizing technology and controllable weaving technology to achieve high-quality weaving of high-quality ramie fabric.

Innovation point four:

Ramie fabric dyeing and finishing technology. Due to the high crystallinity of the ramie fiber molecules, it is difficult to obtain a good dyeing effect by the existing dyeing technology; the rigidity of the fiber causes the ramie textile to be severely itchy and easy to wrinkle. The project innovatively developed ramie dyeing technology and comfortable finishing technology to achieve high-end manufacturing of ramie fabrics.

Breeding technology of high-yield low-gum ramie new varieties. The project is aimed at the application problems of crude ramie fiber, high colloidal and lignin content, as well as the technical difficulties of high-yield, high-abundance dispersion and strong genetic stability of ramie plant, and innovative research and development of ramie germplasm resources. High-quality trait gene information extraction technology and molecular genetic breeding technology to cultivate high-quality ramie plants.

The project realized the long-staple 100Nm pure spinning, jet vortex spinning mixed short spinning, the first-class rate of pure hemp fabrics increased by 45%, the ton fiber degumming steam was reduced by 53%, the water consumption was reduced by 48%, and the ramie textile processing ecology and high efficiency were achieved.
