The autumn/winter 2016 show is still the world of long skirts, but this season the designers have hidden a small cautionary machine, using heavy materials to create a very lightweight dress. This seemingly impossible task has filled the skirts this season with surprises. The mid-length dress with no waist in the waist is still hot, simple and light can be called the two major characteristics of the dress this season. Chiffon, organza, and silk satin are the leading players in the creation of a thin “Santa Skirt”. They are favored by Alberta Ferretti, Chloé, Emilia Wickstead, Jonathan Simkhai, and Lanvin. The cotton dresses of Roksanda and Issey Miyake are equally light and pleasant.
